Job Description

Drive the fix. Own the outcome.

Picture this: dawn breaks, your fully equipped service truck hums to life, and a dispatch arrives for a fleet down on a jobsite. You roll out, assess a stubborn hydraulic fault, run advanced diagnostics, pull the right parts, and have a dozer back in service before lunch. By afternoon, you’re mentoring a junior tech through an electrical gremlin, then wrapping the day with clean documentation and a satisfied customer handshake. That’s a day in the life at Transwest Mobile.

For over 25 years, we’ve kept contractors, municipalities, and fleet operators moving with minimal downtime across Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, and Utah. If solving complex problems on heavy equipment in the field sounds like your kind of challenge, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll take on
  • Perform advanced maintenance and repair on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and farm machinery—where the machine sits.
  • Diagnose intricate mechanical issues using modern diagnostic platforms and OEM service manuals.
  • Handle scheduled PMs and urgent, unscheduled fixes independently while meeting safety and performance standards.
  • Operate cranes and specialized gear to safely support lifts, component swaps, and field repairs.
  • Communicate findings, options, and recommendations clearly to customers throughout the job.
  • Capture detailed, accurate service notes, parts used, and time to keep records audit-ready.
  • Coach entry-level technicians, sharing best practices and raising the bar for our whole team.
  • Stay current on new technology and apply fresh techniques to improve turnaround and quality.
What you bring
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years hands-on with diesel, hydraulic, or electrical systems on heavy equipment.
  • Fluency with diagnostic tools, software, and service literature.
  • Calm, methodical troubleshooting under pressure in fast-moving field environments.
  • Your own professional tool set suited to the work.
  • Strong prioritization and multitasking habits.
  • Valid driver’s license and confidence operating a company vehicle (mobile role).
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions.
Preferred
  • ASE certifications or OEM training (CAT, Hyster, Cummins, etc.).
  • Background in field service/mobile repair.
  • Polished communication and customer service skills.
  • Customer-facing experience or project leadership on active jobsites.
Why you’ll thrive here
  • Impactful Work: Keep critical machines operational when uptime matters most.
  • Growth Opportunities: Partner with leaders like Cummins, Eaton, and Ford, and mentor others along the way.
  • Supportive Culture: We value innovation, collaboration, and craftsmanship.
  • Top Benefits: Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance; 401(k); Life and Disability Insurance; Paid Time Off and Holidays; Referral Bonus Program; Overtime opportunities based on performance; On-the-job training; Work boot allowance, uniforms, and cleaning provided; Company vehicle for mobile roles.
